Anguilla

.

If you are looking for an incredible tropical escape, look no further than the island of Anguilla. Anguilla is 15 miles long, 3 miles wide, and home to over 30 beautiful beaches. It may be small but don’t let it’s size fool you! This little island is teeming with activities for travelers to explore and unwind. How do you get to this tropical destination? Most guests choose to travel through St. Maarten then arriving on Anguilla via sea-shuttle, ferry, or air transfer. This is the easiest, most convenient and direct way!

Best Times to Visit: The best time to visit Anguilla is between May and August. This time period avoids the worst of hurricane season while hotel prices are lower than normal (June 1 to November 30).

Things to do:

Enjoy the beach! This is probably the most obvious activity on this list but we have to mention it because Anguilla has the MOST BEAUTIFUL beaches! The island is home to 33 beaches so there is plenty of wind sand to choose from! Pack some snacks and drinks and spend the day.

Visit Sandy Beach. The name really explains it all… Sandy Beach is a … sandy beach… island located just off the coast of Anguilla with nothing but an adorable little restaurant serving up fresh seafood and cold drinks.

Spend the day sailing around the island. To experience Anguilla, you absolutely must spend the day on the water and swimming in the crystal clear Caribbean water. One of our favorite companies to coordinate this through is Tradition Sailing. Jump off the boat, swim and snorkel in the bay, and then rest and relax with some lobster rolls and drinks afterwards.

Try some local street food! If you have been following us enough, you know that gastronomy plays a big part in our travel planning process! Make sure you stop by Ken’s BBQ for some amazing ribs and chicken, then afterwards head to Gwen’s Reggae Grill for a rum punch and some island music.
