Getting There
Situated in the heart of Tuscany, Il Borro is a century-old hamlet surrounded by 1.100 hectares of organic land. Owned by the Ferragamo Family, there is no shortage of luxury when visiting. Approximately a 1 hour drive outside the city center of Florence, you’ll be swept away by the landscape upon your arrival to Il Borro.
The Estate
Each guest at Il Borro can select a different accommodation for your stay: the exclusive Dimora Storica, the characteristic Villa Mulino situated in the woods, the romantic Villa Casetta in the Merlot vineyards and lastly, the elegant and refined suites located in the medieval hamlet or in the “Aie del Borro.” For more private stays, the Borrigiani, characterized by an agritourism formula, or the Villas of Viesca in the Florentine countryside are ideal.
What We Did
We enjoyed a tour of the winery, followed by a cellar tasting of several varietals, served with a gastronomic platter of Il Borro’s organic products accompanied with their extra virgin olive oil.
A stay at Il Borro means total immersion in Tuscany, and highlights its eco sustainable philosophy. Their philosophy can be seen in the design of their other activities: wine tours to cooking classes, horseback riding, golf, craftsmen’s workshops and spa treatments. There is something for everyone to enjoy, while experiencing authentic Tuscany.
What We Loved
Il Borro is a truly unique place in this world. It is a very immersive property and much more than a place to “stay” on your next visit to Tuscany. You’ll be enamored by the scenery, the service, and overall experience.
