Jennifer Jacob recently returned from a FAM trip, hosted by Crafted Ireland and Index Select, where she had the opportunity to stay at Ashford Castle. Jennifer arrived via a helicopter transfer, on the helipad, situated right at the front of the property. There is no better way to arrive to a Castle than that. Ashford Castle is a member of the family-owned Red Carnation Hotel Collection and a member of the Leading Hotels of the World. The red carmation hotel collection is a luxurious collection of 20 properties that are based primarily in london. However, they also have properties in Geneva, Ireland, South africa, Dorset, palm beach, and guernsey.
Something important to know, ashford castle was once owned by the guiness family, and they had a huge role in the expansion of the estate. This stay is a truly authentic castle experiece and is perfect for those who want to be in history. Ashford Castle is located slighty north of galway and boasts a more authentic and traditional style throughout the property.
WHAT SHE LOVED:
One of Jennfer’s favorite things about Ashford Castle is their two dogs who live on-site. Something unique is that this property, as luxurious as it is, is a pet-friendly estate. Something else important to note, is how incredible the staff was. The hospitality is truly phenomenal, from sales teams to everyone on the grounds, service stayed exceptional.
Another thing that she loved was the vast selection of activities on-site. They have tons of activities, making this a great spot for every member of the family. Jen’s favorite was the hawk walk, and she highly recommends this to any clients who plan to stay at Ashford Castle.
WHAT SHE ATE:
At Ashford you can find 6 restaurants (ranging from fine dining to casual) and 3 bars on-site. One of the most monumental meals for Jennifer was breakfast. Each morning Ashford puts together and incredible breakfast arrangement that is truly bonkers. Her favorites were the ham and juice options.
HOW SHE SLEPT:
There are three main selections for accommodations at Ashford Castle: rooms, suites, or the hideaway cottage. Each of the 83 stays at Ashford Castle are decorated with traditional elegance and finesse. Many of the rooms and suites are individually designed, combining the original features of the castle, with new modern touches. Jennifer slept like a baby and thoroughly enjoyed her stay at this property.
