Our Recent Stay: Hotel Savoy in Florence

Explorateur owner, Jennifer Jacob, stayed at Hotel Savoy in July and we want to tell you all about it. Located smack dab in the center of Florence lies this stunning property where you are in the center of everything, but miraculously hear no noise from inside. There is nothing more special than pulling up to one of the most iconic piazzas in Florence and being greeted by a bellman in a top hat. This property goes above and beyond for their guests, and if you keep reading, you too will see why we love Hotel Savoy so much.

Why I Went:

In July, I was lucky enough to go on a FAM trip to Italy, which ultimately brought me to Hotel Savoy. However, this property has been a bucket-list property for me, for as long as I can remember. If you don’t know much about me, I went to school in Florence, and I thought to myself “one day I will stay there”. In July, I finally fulfilled a life-long dream and Hotel Savoy and it definitely lived up to the hype.

What I Loved:

When I arrived, I was blown away by the immediate presence of excellent service. From the bellman in a top hat to being personally greeted by the General Manager, you can tell this is a property that prioritizes their guests. Might I also note the beautiful décor… this hotel boasts an impeccable combination of both British and Italian styles, and it is simply stunning.

What I Ate:

At Hotel Savoy you have two options for dining and drinks, Irene and Irene Bar. First, I went to Irene Bar for a delicious cocktail before heading to dinner at Irene. You can’t go wrong with the classic Irene’s cocktail, which is a Bergamo Rosolio liquor, dry vermouth, and Franciacorta brut. At the restaurant, you have the opportunity to enjoy a delicious meal with a spectacular view of the Duomo. If you are a seafood fan, you have to check out the Raw seabass with Sicilian pesto and grapefruit sorbet. For something unique, try the Organic filet Beef cooked on a Himalayan salt plate… it is incredible.

How I Slept:

Each room at Hotel Savoy is a dreamy combination of contemporary style and Florentine heritage. They have 80 luxurious and specious rooms that feel intimate and sophisticated at the same time. I slept in a beautiful suite with a stunning view of the Duomo. I will tell you what… if you want to feel like you are IN Florence, this hotel and this room is the place for that. Each room was individually designed by Olga Polizzi and I promise you will feel special when you fall asleep and wake up to the beautiful views, furniture, style and artwork,
