Our Recent Stay: Sorrento

La Dolce Vita, the sweet life as Italians call it, can be found in Sorrento. A gem of the Amalfi Coast. A favorite for our Explorateur advisors & clients for many reasons and we’re excited to share with you all the details from our time spent there earlier this year.

On our recent trip to beautiful Sorrento, we enjoyed our stay at 5-star Parco dei Principi. This paradise is tailor-made for young travel enthusiasts who crave a mix of luxury, excitement, and cultural immersion. This cozy yet stylish boutique hotel is your go-to spot if you’re all about modern experiences, amazing views, and a touch of local charm.

Where We Stayed

As you step into the lobby, you’re hit with this vibrant and welcoming vibe. Picture modern blue and white art pieces hanging out with traditional crafts – it’s like a fusion of history and trendiness. This hotel commissioned the architect Gio Ponti to transform the building into a hotel in the 1960s.

While you can soak in the ocean views from Blu Bar or the on site restaurant. The properties 27,000 square meter botanical gardens are not to be ignored! Gorgeously manicured, your drive into the property is like no other. The contrast from the green lush gardens to the bright white and blue design of the interior is very special. Another hilight is the private beach access, beach club, and sea water swimming pool.

Parco dei Principi is also home to Villa Cavaleri Sorrento, would be great for families traveling! Each villa features a kitchen, two bedrooms, and two baths.

What We Did

While in Sorrento we strolled the streets lined with cute shops & loved seeing lemons everywhere! The streets are lined with lemon trees, painted handmade pottery, and desserts galore. We enjoyed a fabulous dinner at Donna Sofia, where if you ask upon arrival, they may be able to show you their underground wine cellar.

Some of our other favorite activities to plan for clients include boat day to visit the island of Capri or a cooking class! We love working with our local partners to secure private experiences for our clients to experience Capri by boat! Another more economical way to access Capri from Sorrento is by ferry. These typically run run every hour!

What We Loved

The Location! Sorrento is the first city of the “Amalfi Coast” when arriving from Naples. But what does this mean for you? A shorter drive and less traffic, with all the same gorgeous views of the Italian coast… did I mention also a MUCH better price point for hotels. If you’re dying to visit other cities like Positano or Amalfi? No problem! You can experience all the fun still by taking day trips via a private boat, ferry, or a car with a driver!

We finished our stay in Sorrento on the terrace at Parco dei Principi with an incredible sunset, and our favorite a limoncello spritz!
